Privacy policy

The short version: Wakelog collects nothing. There is no account, no server, and no analytics. Your spots, trips, and photos stay on your device.
What Wakelog stores
Everything you create in Wakelog — spots, trips, GPS tracks, notes, ratings, and photos — is stored locally on your device. It is never uploaded, synced, shared, or sold, because there is nothing to upload it to: Wakelog has no server and no user accounts.
What we collect
Nothing. The app has no analytics, no tracking, no advertising SDKs, and no crash reporting. We cannot see your spots, your location, or anything else — even if we wanted to.
Location
Wakelog asks for your device's location so it can drop pins where you are, record trip tracks, and point you back to saved spots. Location is used on the device and stored on the device, only in the spots and trips you choose to save. Your coordinates are never transmitted to us or anyone else. (Loading map tiles does reveal the general area you're viewing to the map provider — see "The map" below.)
Photos
Photos you attach to a spot or trip are stored on the device with the rest of your data. Wakelog never uploads them.
The map
The one thing Wakelog fetches from the internet is the map itself: map tiles are downloaded from OpenFreeMap, an open-source map provider. Like any web request, a tile request exposes standard connection data (such as your IP address) to that provider while the tiles download. Wakelog sends no identifying information with these requests, and once an area is saved for offline use, it loads from your device with no network requests at all.
Backups and exports
Settings includes a JSON backup and a GPX export of your spots. These create files that you own and control. Where you store or send them is up to you.
Deleting your data
Your data stays on your device until you delete it. Deleting a spot or trip in the app removes it permanently, and deleting the app removes everything. Because nothing is stored on our side, there is nothing for us to retain and no deletion request you need to send us — though you're welcome to email with questions.
Children
Wakelog is not directed at children, and because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either. If you believe a child has somehow provided us personal information, email us — though by design, there is nowhere for that information to arrive.
Payments
Wakelog offers a 14-day free trial, then Pro at $12.99/year or a one-time $49.99 lifetime purchase. In the current web version, no payment details are collected in the app at all. When Wakelog is distributed through the Apple App Store, payments are processed by Apple; we never see your payment details. Apple's handling of that data is described in Apple's own privacy policy.
This website
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no third-party scripts. The app and this site are delivered by our hosting provider (Vercel); like any website, loading a page exposes standard connection data such as your IP address to the host while the page loads.
The launch list
If you enter your email to hear when Wakelog reaches the App Store, we store that one email so we can tell you. It is kept in our own storage (Vercel), never sold or shared, used only for that launch note, and you can ask us to delete it anytime at support@getwakelog.com. If you do not enter your email, we store nothing about you.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated date. Since the app's design is "collect nothing," changes should be rare and boring.
